Clothespin Magnets

Materials

Clothespins

Big popsicle sticks

Googly eyes

Paint or markers

yarn

Wood glue or a hot glue gun(the hot glue gun makes it easier)

Self-Adhesive Magnets(can be purchased at a craft store)

First you color the popsicle stick then you color the clothespin. Add detail to both such as polka dots. Put the googly eyes on the clothespins and add yarn if you would like it to look like hair.

(You can decorate the clothespins any way you would like but I suggest making them look like people).

Once you finish decorating the clothespins glue them to the popsicle stick and on the back of the popsicle stick attach the magnet.

Your finished product is a cute clothespin magnet.

Mosaic drawing

This is a very simple activity but it is also very entertaining. After you finish making this you can hang it up, put it in a frame, make it into a card by folding it in half....etc.

Materials

Paper (I used white but any light color would do all depends on the background tint you want)

Pencil

Sharpie

Crayons or color pencils

On the white paper use the pencil to make different lines. Make sure that the shapes that are made aren’t too small or this will not be that fun and will become too much work. After the lines are made and there are different sections on your paper use the sharpie to outline the pencil. Once that is finished use either color pencils or crayons to color in the spaces on the paper. Make sure every space is colored and all spaces colored with different colors.

At the end you should have a beautiful mosaic drawing that if framed will add character to any room.

Slime

I don't know any kid that doesn't love to play with slime so today that is what I will tell you how to make. Making the slime wont take long ; it takes about 5 minutes. Make sure that as you are going step by step to have the kid/kids help so that they are not just waiting for you to make it but they are also helping. I have listed all the materials and steps below........so get ready and have fun.

Materials

2 bowls

spoon

Borax (can be purchased in most stores that sell laundry detergent and will be in that isle)

Water (warm tap)

White school glue (like Elmer’s)

(Food coloring if wanted)

There are two components to slime. There is a borax and water solution(in one bowl) and then a glue, water, and food coloring solution. Prepare them separately.

-Mix 1teaspoon borax into 1-cup water until the borax is completely dissolved. (This is mixed in one bowl.)

-Mix ½ cup glue into ½ cup water until the glue and water combine and it looks milky… add food coloring if you want to. (This is mixed in a separate bowl.)

-Mix the borax mix into the glue mix…stir with spoon but when it becomes too sticky; start kneading it. There will be excess water that is not needed and that’s fine.

So congrats you have made slime now you can let the kid/kids have fun...you can give them scissors and cookie cutters to use with the slime.

Come again to see what other great kid crafts there are.
